From The Bench

Summer/Fall 2007

There are several Jensen built boats permanently moored at Jensen Shipyard.  Two of these Jensen built boats are owned by the Dhatt brothers, Ranji and Davin.  They decided to haul out for their annual maintenance at the same time this year and Duane blocked them side by side.  Isleno (on the left) was first launched in December of 1971 and the Wynsum was the last boat built in the yard and completed in 1983.

In July we said good bye to one of our long time employees, William "Billy" Lowell.  Billy worked and lived in the yard for 25 years.  He is enjoying retirement and still lives on San Juan Island.

All of the boats Nourdine Jensen built have been power boats.  His father, Albert, built a small number of sailboats, of which the current location of only one, is known.  This boat was hauled out, painted, and fixed up by it's current Lopez owners in the middle of October.

With the cold weather here we have started repairing the docks again.  John has been working on some other projects as well such as refinishing our sign at the top of the drive way.  Doesn't it look nice?
